"As a Latino media producer and professor, it has been my goal to produce content that proudly represents and exemplifies the rich Mexican culture in the United States. The project that you are about to watch attempts to bring pride to the Mexican-American youth in our country. This video is presented “as aired” on San Francisco Public Access Television SF Commons 76. ALAS is a cultural nonprofit organization in Halfmoon Bay, CA. This piece showcases their mission: to develop youth leaders and honor the cultural strengths of Mexican families. The narrative that I wanted to use was one of hope, tradition, and fiesta. I believe in the power of media and I hope to keep documenting the rich Latino traditions and hopefully inspire the next generation of Latino youth in the United States."
